Data Extraction from Tender Documents
The approved brands in a tender, listed for you
You send the tender PDF. We return each material and the brands the tender names for it.
What it does
- Reads the approved-makes list: the item, and the brands beside it, such as lamps, cables, fans, and switches.
- Keeps reading when the list continues on the next page and the column titles are only on the first page.
- Reads scanned pages and pages that are mostly images, not only pages with text you can select.
- Leaves out the bill of quantities, the rate schedule, drawings, and a brand that is only mentioned inside a specification note.
- If the tender says “or equivalent,” that is marked on the row.
- If an item has no brand, that row is left out. A brand is never added that the tender did not name.
- If the file has no approved-makes list, you get an empty list. The rest of the batch still finishes.
How it works
- You send the tender PDF.
- We open the pages that hold tables, and set aside drawings and files that are not a makes list.
- We read the approved-makes pages and return one row per item: the material, the brands, and whether an equivalent is allowed.
Where it fits
- A bid team, before pricing, to see which brands a tender allows.
- A desk that receives many tender PDFs and needs the makes list out of each one.
- Your own team, as a list you can search later by item or by brand.
